JOHN MCKESSON
John McKesson was educated as a Presbyterian minister. John and his wife Jean arrived in Baltimore from Glasgow, Scotland sometime between 1760 and 1765. John later settled on the north bank of the Susquehanna River, west of today's Renovo, in Clinton Co., Pa. During the Revolutionary War John served in the Pennsylvania milita in Capt. Peter Frey's company from York Co. John was one of eight McKessons from York Co. who served in the Revolution. Following the war, responding to a government questionnaire, John indicated ownership of 300 acres. John died in the year 1803.
